New treatment with new hope for bladder cancer patients
New hope and turning point for bladder cancer treatment in Egypt
On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, a press conference was held in Cairo to announce the discovery of a new drug that opens the energy of hope for adults with urinary purity cancer, which is the most common in bladder cancer.

It is noteworthy that Estellas Company is the company producing the new drug
Where Dr. Hamdi Abdel Azim referred in his speech to the history of patients of bladder cancer in Egypt, and that it is endemic in Egypt since the era of the pharaohs, because of its close association with schistosomiasis
But he pointed out that the levels of prevalence of the disease have been relatively improved after the elimination of schistosomiasis in Egypt, but it is still the third most prevalent cancer in Egypt.
Regarding its causes, Dr. Emad Hamada pointed out that the main causes of the disease is continuous exposure to chemicals for long periods or taking chemical drugs, and that smoking is one of the strong factors in the infection of this disease.

As for the treatment, Dr. Hamdi Abdel Azim stated that this drug is impressive, as he put it, because it is capable of dealing with critical cases that we cannot give other treatments because they cannot tolerate them.
It has shown a great ability to reduce the spread of the disease in a very satisfactory manner in mild and moderate cases and also a noticeable improvement in critical cases.
Regarding prevention, Dr. Tamer Al-Nahhas indicated that the best means of preventing the disease is to avoid its causes, the most important of which is smoking, and continuous exposure to chemicals that are inhaled in non-ventilated workplaces, or without taking the necessary measures, and the best prevention is to drink plenty of water daily.
