Salt water: A solution of salt water can be used as a mouthwash, as it helps clean the mouth and reduce inflammation. Mix half a teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water and rinse your mouth with it.
Cold compresses: Apply cold compresses to the outside of the face near the site of pain. Cold compresses help reduce inflammation and relieve pain.
Cloves: Cloves contain a compound called “eugenol” which acts as a natural anesthetic. You can put a drop of clove oil on a cotton ball and place it on the painful area, or use ground cloves and place them on the site of pain.
Pain relievers: Pain relievers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen can be used to relieve pain temporarily. However, you should follow the instructions on the package and consult a doctor if the pain persists.
Garlic: Garlic has antibacterial properties and can help kill the bacteria that cause pain. You can crush a clove of garlic, mix it with a little salt and place it on the aching tooth.
