Ways to take care of your nails
1. Continuous moisturizing
Use moisturizing creams specifically for nails and the skin around them, such as olive oil or coconut oil.
Moisturizing helps prevent nails from peeling and breaking.
2. Healthy nutrition
Eat foods rich in proteins, vitamins (such as vitamins B, C, D, E) and minerals (such as iron and zinc).
Foods such as eggs, spinach, carrots, and nuts contribute to strengthening nails.
3. Trim nails regularly
Trim your nails regularly and avoid making them too long, because long nails are prone to breakage.
Use clean scissors, preferably special for nails only.
4. Protect nails from chemicals
When using detergents or chemicals, be sure to wear gloves to protect your nails from dryness and damage.
Also avoid excessive use of nail polish removers that contain acetone.
5. Do not bite your nails
Avoid biting your nails because it weakens them and leads to cracks and peeling.
You can apply bitter-tasting nail polish or find other ways to avoid this habit.
6. Use a nail file correctly
Use the nail file gently, preferably horizontally, to avoid breaking the nails.
Avoid filing wet nails because they are at their weakest.
7. Give nails time to breathe from the polish
Give your nails a break from nail polish, especially if you use nail polish frequently, so they can breathe and regain their strength.
8. Biotin (vitamin B7) supplements
Biotin is known for its role in promoting healthy nails and hair. If your nails are weak, it may be helpful to consult a doctor about biotin supplements.
